Less equipment, more profit. The Setra brand is expanding its range of rural-service buses with the addition of an economical "business" variant. The interior appointments of the S 415 UL business, S 416 UL business and S 417 UL business are kept to the key components. In conjunction with robust vehicle technology and an efficient drive system, the "new" members of the Setra MultiClass 400 series are precisely tailored for optimum efficiency when used on long-distance routes, for school bus services and also on occasional transfer journeys.
With these cost-effective standard vehicles, Daimler AG is launching a revised vehicle concept which not only provides flexible solutions for the often fast-changing market situation throughout Europe, but also meets all relevant tender criteria.
The two-axle models incorporate all of the strengths of the established Setra MultiClass 400, and score highly in terms of robust individual components which guarantee a long service life and availability.

In addition, they feature a host of modern safety standards such as Brake Assist (BA), guarantee roll-over resistance in accordance with ECE-R66 and meet all European statutory requirements. In the engine compartment, the environmentally friendly OM 936 BlueEfficiency Power Euro VI engine with low emissions and reduced fuel consumption makes a significant contribution when it comes to economy.
For Till Oberwörder, Head of Marketing, Sales & Aftersales at Daimler Buses, the new economical rural-service bus represents a profitable alternative for all regular-service operators, especially in price-sensitive market segments: "With the new Setra "UL business" rural-service buses, the price and performance are 100 percent right when it comes to acquisition, operation and maintenance. The low fuel consumption, high passenger capacity, long service intervals of 90,000 kilometres and high re-sale value are all important factors here." Series production of the regular-service buses is scheduled to start in the spring of 2014.
