Stuttgart/Neu-Ulm - Germany's largest fleet of bistro coaches has just got even larger. "Stewa Touristik GmbH" has now extended its fleet to 25 vehicles with the addition of three more Setra S 431 DT double-decker coaches. Based in Kleinostheim in Lower Franconia, the bus company has taken delivery of six Setra coaches from Ulm in the course of the past year.
Heinz Friedrich, Setra brand spokesperson for Germany, commented: "I'm happy that Stewa, a long-standing Setra partner, is this year adding six Setra double-deckers to its fleet of bistro coaches." Addressing 240 invited tour guests at the official handover of the latest three coaches in the Setra customer centre in Neu-Ulm, Peter Stenger emphasised the great significance of this order: "This is the most we've ever spent in a single year."
The sole owner and managing director of Stewa Touristik values above all the high-quality workmanship and outstanding value retention of Setra coaches as well as the Europe-wide Omniplus service network.
The three newest S 431 DTs from the Setra TopClass 400 series are once again each characterised by the coach operator's trademark feature, a cosy bistro lounge on the lower deck that accommodates a total of 16 passengers in "Setra Voyage" all-leather seats around four coffee tables.

Peter Stenger, who represents the third generation of his family to run the business, explains: "The convivial bistro lounge ensures from the outset that every one of our tours turns into a social experience during which new friendships are made."
Those not wishing to take a seat on the lower deck can make themselves at home on the upper deck, which offers space for 56 passengers.

With three S 14s from the 10 series, it was in 1967 that the company took delivery of its first coaches from the Ulm-based brand, to which it has remained loyal to this day throughout all model series. With the purchase of three Setra Series 200 S 216 HDS coaches in 1981, it was decided that all future Stewa tours would include an on-board service and tour guide. The first double-decker coaches followed just two years later.
