The Mostra Scambio held from the 6th to the 8th of November in the picturesque Parco Esposizione Novegro is one of Italy's most important swap meetings for classic cars, motorcycles and bicycles. It's just a walk away from Milan's city Airport of Linate.
Being simple to reach, it has become renowned internationally and especially appreciated by the French and German that year after year increase in presence. The success of this event places its roots in the 80's when classic cars had a market among rich investors, "fueled" by a flourishing Italian Exchange and easy money-making deals.
Although the following years were charecterized by austerity this did not stop the enthusiasm for the classic from growing.
Instead the aficionado turned their attention to spare parts and accessories which were almost as important as the cars and motorcycles themselves because they were essential for restorations, a much more simple way of investing and above all they occupied little space in the garage.

I spent a typical misty Lombard autumn morning walking around the fair just admiring all the collectibles from cars to motorcycles, from bicycles to antique toys and exchanging stories with a few of the exhibitors.
All very willing and helpful whenever I asked questions on there works of art, a few even invited me to visit their shops such as Ruote Classiche that had a rare Bianchi motorcycle on display.
A certain Mr. Igne was also extremely polite in showing me his collection of antique car parts and sharing stories of the past. I would also like to aknowledge the gentleman from Toff Car that allowed me to photograph his Fiat 595. I must say that a swap meeting of this entity is not just an event but a museum of historic importance.
