President Obama will, one week after, welcome leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries ““ Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates ““ to the White House on May 13 and to Camp David on May 14. The gathering will be an opportunity for the leaders to discuss ways to enhance their partnership and deepen security cooperation.

Here is the Official Statement-France Cooperation Council of the Gulf Arab States
On the occasion of their meeting on 5 May 2015 in Riyadh, the GCC Heads of States have invited the President of the French Republic, François Hollande, to participate in their work. This initiative reflects the consideration of the GCC states for the active and positive policy of France in the Middle East.
This strategic region is indeed going through a difficult period marked by the destabilization of several States, increasing in international terrorism and interference of certain states and movements in the affairs of other states. This is dangerous for regional and international security and affects the economic and social development whose peoples of the Middle East aspire.
MEASURES TO RESTORE THE REGIONAL STABILITY-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Heads of State of the GCC and of the French Republic referred to the measures to restore regional stability and called on the international community to:
1-reaffirm the right of states in the region to respect for their independence, their territorial integrity, inviolability of its frontiers and national sovereignty, free from outside interference;------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2-firmly condemned international terrorism in all its forms and oppose the destabilizing actions of Daech, Al Qaeda and its allies in the Middle East and around the world. The member countries of C.C.E.A.G. and France confirm their determination to fight against terrorism and adopt all means necessary to dry up the sources of funding for Daech terrorist organization.-----------------
3-do everything to prevent nuclear proliferation in the Middle East and in particular to promote a robust agreement, durable and verifiable within the 5 + 1 negotiations with Iran. The GCC States and France call on Iran to take the courageous decisions necessary to reassure the international community about the peaceful nature of its nuclear program and its willingness to establish trusting relationships with the states of the region, in accordance with principles of international law and those of the UN, based on good neighborliness and prohibiting interference in the internal affairs of States or use of force or threat by force.
2216 RESOLUTION OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL ABOUT ISIL-------------------------------------------------------------------
4-support the legitimate government of Yemen's efforts to achieve a comprehensive political process and restore peace in the country, in cooperation with the GCC, the UN and the Friends of Yemen. They bring their full support to the new special envoy of Secretary-General of the United Nations in Yemen, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, in his efforts as a mediator between the Yemeni parties. They call for the preparation of a peaceful political transition in accordance with the initiative of the GCC countries and its implementation mechanisms, the conclusions of the national dialogue and to the full and accurate implementation of Council resolution 2216 International Security (2015) and the relevant Security Council resolutions;-----------
5-support Iraqi government efforts to promote national reconciliation and rid Iraq of the threat of ISIL, with the full participation of all components of its people through the full implementation of the reform agenda agreed Last summer;--------------------------
6-support efforts to end the suffering of the Syrian people by putting immediately implement a process of political transition in line with the principles of Geneva-1, providing aid to the Syrian people to deal with violence that 'exercise regime of Bashar al-Assad and ISIL and realize the aspirations of the Syrian people for a united Syria democratic, independent and respectful of human rights and diverse communities;
LIBYA CONFLICT AND ARAB-ISRAELI-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7-encourage settlement to the Arab-Israeli conflict by calling the International Security Council to set a timetable for negotiations, while supporting the contribution of the international community within the framework of the Arab peace initiative;
8-express its concern at the increase in acts of violence and terrorism that threaten the security, stability and unity of Libya, confirming support for the legitimate elected parliament, by supporting the efforts of the Special Representative of the Secretary General UN, Mr Bernardino, in favor of a revival of the comprehensive national dialogue between all the components of the Libyan people and calling all factions of the Libyan Fulani to assume their national responsibilities and to conclude without delay an agreement establishing a government of national unity in this framework.
9-reinforce the independence, sovereignty and unity of Lebanon by strengthening its institutions, particularly the army, and calling on the parties concerned to immediately elect a president;----------------------------------------------------------------------------
10-contribute to the stabilization and development of Egypt by continued cooperation and assistance in this great country vital to stability in the region.
COOPERATION CONFIRMED BETWEEN FRANCE AND GCC STATES--------------------------------------------------------
The GCC states and France welcome the significant convergence of views on the objectives and means to ensure the stability of the Middle East, a strategic region for international security. They agree to strengthen political consultations and cooperation in all areas for the benefit of their peoples.
France intends to develop its engagement with the GCC states as part of a strategic partnership involving technology transfer, training young people, cross large scale investments through joint ventures in innovative sectors and strengthening cooperation in the fields of security and defense.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The states of GCCC and France confirm their joint cooperation to ensure the success of the 21th Conference of Parties to the Framework UN Convention on Climate Change to be held in Paris from 30 November to 11 December 2015. They share a commitment to progress Nearby issues as part of the preparatory work set out in June.
